Dunk and Egg are making a comeback this winter, though you won’t find them on your television screen.
Rittenhouse Archives has announced that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, a new trading card set based on the HBO series’ debut season, will arrive in Winter 2026. Beyond that, the company has shared nothing. There’s no word on pack contents, the size of the base set or which cast members will provide autographs.
For anyone who has been waiting for the series to grow beyond its Sunday night slot, though, this is the first real sign that it’s happening.

Westeros’ more modest series is the one gaining ground
Two major projects set in George R.R. Martin’s world are currently underway. At the moment, the momentum belongs to the story of a hedge knight and a bald kid, not the one packed with dragons.
Fans and critics both responded well to the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It holds a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.6/10 rating on IMDb.

Its smaller scale is what makes it work. The series sets aside the politics and scheming that defined Game of Thrones, which gives longtime fans something they haven’t had in more than a decade. After a reception like that, merchandise was inevitable, and trading cards just happen to be first.
What the House of the Dragon set suggests
Rittenhouse has a recent model worth looking at. On Oct. 21, the company is releasing its second House of the Dragon series, and many of those cards include handwritten cast signatures.

That release has a 65-card Base Set made up of three cards per episode plus 41 Character Cards. On top of that, the Bonus Set includes Autograph Cards from more than 30 signers and Hand-Drawn Sketch Cards from over 30 artists.
The rarest pulls are where collectors will focus. Those include the “All Must Choose” Black (CT1) and Green (CT2) Metal Card Case Topper, which comes one per case. They also include the Emma D’Arcy/Matt Smith Dual Autograph Card and the Rhys Ifans/Olivia Cooke Dual Autograph Card, each found once in every eight cases.
The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms set will probably take a similar shape, although the specifics could differ. If Rittenhouse follows its usual approach, there should be a few chase cards that make ripping through packs worthwhile.
Filming on Season 2 has wrapped
The cards will have to tide fans over for some time. Filming on the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms wrapped recently, but the only release window so far is early-to-mid 2027.
Current plans call for three seasons. Showrunner Ira Parker has said publicly that he’d like the series to run considerably longer than that.
HBO has every incentive to agree. If the show keeps drawing audiences like this, it would be surprising if the network didn’t try to get as much out of it as possible.
Until then, the next bit of Dunk you can buy will come in a foil pack sometime this winter.
