Five games in a few weeks
Rush Party is one of the games PlayZap announced on Oct. 12. That day, the studio said it was “accelerating on YouTube Playables” and named five new titles it expects to launch in the next few weeks: Rush Party, Jungle Fury, Scrub Tycoon, Bus IO and AstroLock.
Jungle Fury was the first to get a countdown. In an earlier post, PlayZap said that game’s trailer was coming out that same day.
The studio hasn’t given launch windows for any of the five games.
Traction claims
PlayZap said it logged more than 500,000 gameplays over the last 30 days. It also reported a 60% rise in YouTube subscribers.
The studio also said it has passed 3 million app downloads and 25 million total gameplays. It said the 500,000-plus plays on YouTube Playables came from just two games live on the platform.
These numbers come from PlayZap’s own posts and have not been independently verified.
Route to Playables
In July, PlayZap submitted its first game to YouTube Playables for review. Google had to approve the title before it could appear in the catalog. At that point, the studio didn’t name the game or share a timeline.
YouTube Playables started as an experiment in late 2023 and expanded more widely a year later. The catalog now has more than 75 free games that play inside YouTube’s mobile app and desktop site without a separate install. It is available in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia.
