The opening message didn’t list the new species or rod stats. It also gave no locations for the new holes among The Berg’s 12 towns.

Fishing at the center

Fishing has powered Pudgy World’s economy since the game went live. Players catch and collect fish, then put them toward progression and rewards, with story quests running alongside.

This is the second fishing-related content drop since launch. The first came in May, when the studio opened the Obby Lobby, which players reach through a portal in Pengu Plaza. Its main draw is the Treehouse Trumble obstacle course, where players climb through treehouse structures and can catch rare fish that only appear on that route. Reaching the top earns an exclusive trait.

So far the studio has added content to existing locations and hasn’t opened new towns. The fishing update follows the same approach, with the new spots spread across the current map.

The Berg

Pudgy World launched in March 2026 as a free-to-play browser game that needs no download. At launch, Pudgy Penguins said players could “Explore 12 unique towns across The Berg, help Pengu find Polly, and play mini-games.”

Pudgy Port, Pengu Plaza, Icebreaker Alley, Whispering Hollow and Pudgy Peaks are among those towns.

Pudgy Party wind-down

A few months before this update, Pudgy Penguins shifted its gaming resources onto Pudgy World. In June, the company said it would wind down Pudgy Party, the mobile game it made with Mythical Games.

Pudgy Party had its global launch in August 2025. The game passed 1 million downloads and climbed to the No. 1 spot on the App Store at launch.

According to Pudgy Penguins, Pudgy Party “helped spread the Pudgy Penguins IP more widely” and produced community moments it will “always cherish.” The company also said Pudgy World is “on track to surpass” those milestones, and described its scalability and storytelling potential as being on “an entirely different level.”

Pudgy World is now the company’s main game. It sits alongside the brand’s toys, animation, social content and NFTs.
