In Brief:
- Tollan Games Studio and a first funding round were announced on X by the team behind Tollan Universe.
- Neither the size of the round nor any of its backers were disclosed.
- Loot Planets, a space game marked “Coming soon,” is the studio’s next release.
Tollan Universe’s developers have set up a new outfit, Tollan Games Studio, and say they’ve closed its first funding round. The amount raised and the names of the investors weren’t shared.
News of the studio came through the @TollanUniverse account on X. “Announcing Tollan Games Studio and our first funding round!” the team wrote. “With the support of our amazing backers, we are excited to build the next generation of video games and interactive experiences.”

The announcement left out the round size, the valuation, any lead investor and the list of participants. It also didn’t say how the new studio relates to Foretold Studios, which has developed Tollan Universe up to now.
Next up: Loot Planets
According to the post, Loot Planets is the studio’s next project. The game has its own X account, @LootPlanetsRH.
The Loot Planets website has a pixel-art galaxy theme and the tagline “Build your fleet. Conquer planets. Collect loot.” Clicking or tapping a planet or asteroid launches rockets, and the arrow keys move players between territories. The site marks the game as “Coming soon,” with no launch date and no word on which chain, if any, it will use.
The state of Tollan Universe
Tollan Universe is a competitive action roguelike that’s free to play. Each run is a bullet-heaven session: players fend off waves of orc hordes, collect elemental powers and close out against bosses. It’s available on PC and web and is live on Abstract.
Season one kicked off in June 2025, and the game shifted to Abstract on Dec. 1, 2025.
Crowns are the in-game currency. Players can buy them with ETH or earn them through quests and social features. Runs also count toward Abstract Stamps for ecosystem rewards. Proof of Play’s vRNG supplies verifiable randomness, and around the Abstract launch, Yield Guild Games hosted a Tollan Universe quest on its Community Questing platform.
September 2026 brought a Loot Pass for earning Abstract Stamps and a gated mode called Champions’ Arena. With those additions, the portion of Crown spending returned to players climbed to 85%, which now goes into the Weekly Pool and Jackpot. Before that, the two pools shared 75%. When the game launched, players got 40% of in-game purchases back.
The game now has two modes, Competitive and Casual, each with ETH and Crown prize pools. The studio said Week 17 payouts passed $13,500 across the prize pool, jackpot and referrals.
Only 99 Genesis Avatar NFTs exist, and holders get free weekly VIP perks.
How Tollan Worlds ended up on Abstract
The series began as Tollan Worlds, a 2D action RPG built around dungeon crawling. Its Genesis Avatars sold through GameStop’s NFT marketplace, TokenTrove and Immutable.
Foretold Studios later renamed the project Tollan Universe and reworked it into a group of action-adventure games, the first being Tollan Survivors. On Nov. 14, 2024, the Xai Foundation announced a strategic partnership with Foretold Studios. That deal moved the studio from Immutable X to Xai with two titles, Tollan Survivors and Tollan Worlds. A year later, the game landed on Abstract.
Tollan Universe’s Discord server has 8,208 members.
