In Brief:
- Aurory AURY $0.02304 ▲ +0.4% (official site) is pulling the Amiko Legends (official site) demo on Nov. 2, the studio said in an Oct. 29 post on the game’s Steam page.
- With the data and player feedback it wanted now in hand, the studio is returning to work on requested features, bug fixes, balance, new biomes, quests and Amiko.
- Aurory still hasn’t set an Early Access launch date, and progress made in the demo won’t move over to the full game.
Less than four weeks after it appeared on Steam, the Amiko Legends demo is going offline. Aurory will shut down the Amiko Legends demo on Nov. 2.
In a Steam post called “Demo shutdown: the road to Early Access,” the studio wrote: “The demo will shut down on November 2nd.”
Demo shutdown: the road to Early Access
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for playing the Amiko Legends demo and sharing your feedback!
We now have the data and player feedback we needed, so the team is going back to work to add the most requested features, fix bugs, improveAmiko LegendsView on X ↗
No launch window was included. “We don’t have an Early Access date to share yet, but we’ll keep you updated here and on our socials,” Aurory said.
Returning to development
According to Aurory, the demo served its purpose. On X, the studio wrote: “We now have the data and player feedback we needed, so the team is going back to work to add the most requested features, fix bugs, improve.”
The fuller Steam post spells out the next steps: the most requested features, bug fixes, better balance, plus new biomes, quests and Amiko. Aurory also invited players to propose content they want, such as behind-the-scenes material or explanations of design choices, on the Steam forum or Discord.
Runs logged in the demo will be lost. Demo progress won’t transfer to the full game, Aurory said. That lines up with its message at launch, when it told players progress wouldn’t carry over because parts of the game’s progression were still being tuned.
A brief run
Aurory released the demo on Oct. 7 alongside patch notes and a Q&A post. It then ran as part of Steam Next Fest, and the studio posted about the event on Oct. 19 and Oct. 27. The shutdown notice went out two days after the festival wrap-up.
The studio had said from day one that the demo would only be around for a limited time. It was PC-focused and available in English only. PvP was included, with co-op PvE planned. No other platforms have been announced.
Aurory's pitch for the game is “Pokémon meets ARC Raiders.” Players charm wild Amiko, battle alongside them in turn-based combat and must get to an extraction point to hold on to what they’ve found. On Steam, the game is set in a world where “Amiko populations shift, ecosystems respond, and discoveries change over time.”
Getting to Steam
Before the demo came a closed beta on Steam. Aurory kicked it off with a welcome post on June 16, released a patch on June 22 and said on July 21 that the beta was closed.
Aurory’s stated target is Early Access by the end of 2026. The game will be sold on Steam as a one-time purchase, though no price has been set.
On the Steam store page, Aurory is listed as both developer and publisher, and the game is still marked “coming soon.” The minimum requirements are Windows 11, an Intel i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600, 8GB of RAM, a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT and 15GB of storage.
Background
The game was originally called Seekers of Tokane (official site). On Oct. 31, 2025, Aurory renamed it Amiko Legends, and Nefties became Amiko. Seekers of Tokane launched in November 2023 and opened to everyone on the Epic Games Store in February 2024.
The token economy was left in place when the rebrand happened. Winning with a full squad of Prime Amiko (the NFT version) earned OKA, while winning with Standard Amiko or a mixed squad earned TOKE. AURY was used for rewards too.
Blockchain and NFT features don’t appear anywhere on the Steam store page. Aurory hasn’t explained how the Steam release connects to the earlier Epic Games Store version, which asks players to link a Solana wallet when they create an account.
The Oct. 29 post closed with thanks from the studio: “Hi everyone, Thank you so much for playing the Amiko Legends demo and sharing your feedback!”
