- Pufferfish crafting recipes arrive for every rarity up to Legendary, alongside recipes for Uncommon Pufferfish Food.
- Rooms are tier-based and hold 10 to 50 players, who collect points from repeatable farming tasks. Everyone gets guaranteed progression rewards, and the top 10 in each room win leaderboard prizes.
The Spirits Unleashed tournament started in Chainers on Oct. 29. It brings Pufferfish into the game’s crafting system and lasts until Nov. 3.
Chainers posted the announcement on X. According to the studio, the update brings “Pufferfish: crafting recipes for all rarities” and “Crafting recipes for Uncommon Pufferfish Food.” The post says the fish cover every rarity, “up to Legendary.”

“Team up for the goofy fish. You need all of them!” Chainers said.
What the update adds
For this tournament, Chainers listed just two new items: Pufferfish crafting and the Uncommon Pufferfish Food recipe. The announcement gives no detail on how each Pufferfish rarity is made or which ingredients the recipes call for.
The progression rewards and leaderboard prizes for Spirits Unleashed aren’t listed in the post either. For an explanation of the format, the studio sent players to the game’s documentation.
How the format works
The studio’s name for the format is Position Personal Tournaments. In the docs, they’re described as competition added over the normal farm loop. “Extra activity, extra rewards, not a replacement!” the studio said.
Each player lands in a room with others around the same level, and the tier sets how big that room is. A Tier 1 room fits up to 50 players. Tier 2 rooms top out at 40, Tier 3 at 30 and Tier 4 at 10.
Repeatable farming tasks generate points, with bigger tasks paying out more. Players can repeat them as often as they like. “There’s no limit to how often you can complete tasks during the tournament window, so keep farming and keep climbing,” the docs said.
Two reward tracks
The rewards are split into two layers. Progression rewards unlock at XP milestones, and anyone who hits a milestone gets them regardless of rank. “Your rank doesn’t matter here — play, progress, and collect,” Chainers wrote in the documentation.
The second layer, leaderboard rewards, is reserved for the top 10 players in each room, with bigger payouts for higher finishes. According to Chainers, those players “get the best rewards.”
Payouts work differently for each track. When the tournament wraps up, progression rewards land in-game on their own. Top-10 rewards must be claimed by hand, and the docs mark that warning in red.
Mini-games and leaderboards
In the docs, tournaments are filed under the Chainers Games section, alongside the mini-games. The mini-games use Heroes built in the Hub as playable characters. Each mini-game gives players one free play a day, and extra rounds cost $CFB.
Winning a mini-game for the first time each day grants a booster from the current epoch. Matches also hand out Game Points, which feed a separate mini-game leaderboard. Chainers pays that leaderboard monthly in what it calls “on-chain soft currencies (internal currencies),” and the amount depends on a player’s position when rewards go out.
Background
Chainers has run spirit-themed events before Spirits Unleashed. In Restless Spirits, a ghost crafting step let players turn a Legendary White Ostrich into a Common Ghost and unlock the Uncommon recipe. Raising Spirits, a Pet Me event, opened up Rare and Epic Ghosty recipes, with a Legendary Litch Ghosty and nine Boost Packs as event rewards.
The studio pitches Chainers as “a multiplayer game you can jump into instantly” with “a rewarding creative world, endless customization, thrilling gameplay, and user-generated content.” Its systems cover NFT card collecting, 3D character customization, farming, crafting, missions and seasonal events.
According to the docs, Personal Tournaments are “designed to make your regular gameplay more rewarding — with something for everyone, not just the players at the top of the leaderboard.”
