Desert PvP and loot stealing are coming to Outer Ring MMO in its next update, according to a post the studio shared on X.
Six additions are named in the post: “Extreme Desert PvP,” “Loot Stealing,” “New Bosses,” “New Mission System,” “New Abilities & Weapon Skills” and “Equipment Storage Chests.” There are no dates or patch notes, and nothing on how the systems will actually work.

What the team has said
The studio kept the announcement brief. “The next chapter of #OuterRingMMO is taking shape!” it wrote, followed by “The danger is just beginning!”
Loot stealing is still a mystery, including whether it will be limited to the desert PvP zone. The post doesn’t say if tokenized items can be lost this way. It also leaves out what the storage chests will hold and whether they’ll be linked to a player’s wallet.
A familiar map
Outer Ring has used the desert before. Back in December 2023, while the game was in pre-alpha, the studio launched Desert Outpost and described it as “our challenging new PvP map for 4-6 players.” PvP had previously taken place on the Dead Prison and Fungal Forest maps.
Today the desert sits inside the open world on the planet Fanet. In September, a post encouraged players to explore it alongside the Fungal Forest and Caustic Fen, though that message was about exploration and didn’t mention combat.
Recent patches
The preview comes after several updates. The beta launched on Aug. 24 with a new Temple zone, and the studio billed its Sept. 30 release as “the biggest update of the season.”
Ahead of the desert PvP teaser, the team said the following patch would deliver “fixes for your gear, trading and matches, alongside new tournament features.” That patch had no release date either, and the new post doesn’t make clear whether the two announcements describe one update.
In April, the official account promoted a new build covering PvP, PvE, exploration and multiplayer. Looking further out, the studio has talked about a full persistent open world, new regions of the Ring and bigger faction wars.
The token side
Outer Ring is made by SOREDI Games and belongs to its Blink Galaxy ecosystem. SKALE handles gameplay, Base holds the liquidity, and $BG is the governance token. The in-game currencies are Exocredits (EXO) and Galactic Quadrants (GQ).
The base conversion rate is 5 GQ to 1 BG, and it’s adjusted every month according to market prices. Tokens that have been converted vest linearly between July and December 2026. The token generation event was set for Dec. 1, 2025, with mainnet launch following on Jan. 1, 2026.
More than 37,000 tokenized items exist in the game.
The game
Outer Ring is a free-to-play sci-fi shooter made in Unreal Engine 5. It runs on Windows 10 and later. Players choose one of five playable factions, and the modes cover battle royale, arenas, dungeons and missions. The Great Silver City and Fanet are among its locations, and crafting is done at the Galactic Foundry.
The studio signed off its post by asking players, “Are YOU ready for what’s coming?”
