In Brief:
- Patch notes are out from CCP Games for EVE Frontier Founder Access 0.6.5.0, which introduces fresh modules such as the Transponder and the Fuel Blister.
- That makes two patches in two weeks: 0.6.4.0 arrived July 22 carrying the Stuttergun weapon alongside the Thrust Overdrive module.
- Each update falls within Cycle 6: Sanctuary, hosted on the paid Founder Access client that CCP is migrating off an EVM testnet and onto Sui.
Two new modules and a batch of Sanctuary-cycle refinements arrived with patch 0.6.5.0, which CCP Games pushed to EVE Frontier’s Founder Access client.
“Introducing a handful of improvements & new modules, including the Transponder and the Fuel Blister!” the studio said in a post on X pointing players to the notes.

Second patch in as many weeks
Arriving on the heels of 0.6.5.0’s predecessor, 0.6.4.0 landed July 22. That release brought in the Stuttergun weapon type and the Thrust Overdrive module, reworked the Needle laser and pushed through a round of defect fixes.
The pair match the rhythm CCP outlined back in July, when the studio told players that a stretch of “offensive and defensive” updates would arrive week after week, with the details guided by feedback from community testing.
Aug. 18 is the date set for a mid-season drop. Billed by CCP as “better tools in a bigger toolbox,” it will bring character shell modules oriented around survival, plus gravity hazards emanating from black holes and rifts.
What Sanctuary changed
June 25 saw Cycle 6 launch with a complete server reset and a five-day free trial. The update reconstructed the game around modular vessels put together from interchangeable parts, and gave the opening experience an overhaul.
Dormant Gates were also seeded across starter systems by the cycle. Riders who repair, reenergize and reactivate them unlock routes leading into new star systems.
Hostile AI received attention as well. Ferals fight over resources, hold key areas and respond to player actions, while Leeches latch onto ships and siphon resources from whatever they hit. Down the line, Leeches can turn into optional mini-bosses known as Wreck Stalkers.
Sanctuary also turned stars into live hazards that pile heat onto exposed vessels. How quickly that heat accumulates depends on distance and line of sight, with wrecks, rocks and structures offering cover.
Fueling, meanwhile, revolves around LUX, which Riders trade against a test version of $EVE to acquire Mining Lenses. Those extract Crude Matter from rifts, and it refines into fuel.
The Sui port
Word came on Oct. 8, 2025, that CCP would build EVE Frontier on Sui, the Mysten Labs Layer-1 network. Earlier plans built around an Ethereum Layer 2 were dropped in the process.
Written in Solidity, the original testnet ran on EVM, and that build serves as the base of today’s Founder Access client. The port to Sui has been underway since, gaining zkLogin for native account abstraction and Sponsored Transactions in the process.
Sui’s speed and onchain object model were what the studio pointed to as the right match for a universe spanning tens of thousands of star systems. Multiple tokens are supported by design, an EVE utility token among them.
According to CCP, transactions taking place outside the game won’t be restricted, and the studio frames EVE Frontier as a game that uses blockchain rather than a blockchain game.
