Three Weeks In, Frost Kingdom Claims the Top Popularity Spot on Both App Store and Google Play

three weeks in frost kingdom claims the top popularity spot on both app store and google play In Brief:

In Brief:

  • On Aug. 15, NEXUS announced that Frost Kingdom had taken the No. 1 position on the games popularity rankings across Apple’s App Store and Google Play alike.
  • Launched worldwide on July 23 for iOS, Android, PC and ONE store, the merge SLG marks the first title the Korean publisher has released on its own.
  • ONEchain powers the global build, where the RDIA token has a hard cap of 500,000 units distributed exclusively via Genesis Boxes, and 5% of game revenue feeds a holder reward pool.

Publisher NEXUS reported Saturday that Frost Kingdom had climbed to No. 1 on the popularity charts of Apple’s App Store and Google Play, arriving three weeks after the merge SLG rolled out globally.

According to NEXUS, the title took first place in the games category popularity ranking on Korea’s domestic Apple App Store. With servers live, the company is opening additional ones on the strength of that showing.

This is NEXUS’ debut as a self-publisher. July 23 brought the game to iOS, Android and PC as well as ONE store, and an HTML5 version plays straight from a browser without any installation. A single account follows the player across every platform.

Two builds, one game

The publisher offers Frost Kingdom in two flavors: a domestic Korean release and a global release that includes the blockchain features. Setting those features aside, the two versions share identical systems throughout.

Set in a medieval world, the strategy title does away with the construction and troop-training waits players usually endure. Buildings and units are dragged onto each other for instant fusion, while battles follow a rock-paper-scissors triangle in which infantry beats archers, archers beat cavalry and cavalry beats infantry. The roster tops 100 unit types, joined by a hero collection system covering four grades.

The RDIA cap

With a ceiling of 500,000 units, RDIA was handed out solely through the limited Genesis Box pre-sale. Nothing further is issued inside the game.

RDIA can be converted by holders into Red Diamond — the currency for purchasing in-game items — at a rate of one Red Diamond per dollar. The alternative is swapping into $ONEUSD, which works throughout the broader ecosystem.

NEXUS channels 5% of the game's revenue into a reward pool. Anyone holding $RDIA collects $ONEUSD from that pool proportionally to what they hold.

Renamed rails

A rebrand was already underway when the game arrived. NEXUS renamed the CROSS mainnet ONEchain, shifted the native token from $CROSS to $ONE and settled on $ONEUSD as the ecosystem’s common unit. Under CEO Henry Chang, the company had previously bought the domestic app market ONE store, bringing the storefront and the token together beneath one brand.

Both of the ecosystem’s engagement platforms connect to Frost Kingdom. Missions completed on the quest platform ONEquest pay out ONE store points to domestic users and $ONE to global users. Over on the streamer platform ONEwave, creators produce guides and gameplay videos and are compensated based on how much they drive game engagement.

Tied to the launch, a ONEquest campaign offers a 150,000 prize pool and continues through Sept. 30, 2026. NEXUS has also launched a “Build Your Alliance” campaign on ONEwave, organized around six content pillars that include tokenomics, Red Diamond, game overview and the merge and SLG hybrid. Its referral rewards pay out only when the invited player installs the game and completes the tutorial.

What the beta showed

A closed beta ran June 4 to 10, and NEXUS drew on the feedback to tune both tokenomics and game quality. More than 100 countries were represented among testers, with Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines turning out in force.

That test doubled as the first rollout of CROSS Game Hub, the company’s proprietary web shop platform. Over the course of the beta, 78.1% of all transactions went through the CROSS platform.

In the weeks since release, NEXUS has folded Japanese into the service languages following strong reception in Japan and has been shipping new buildings and other content continuously.

What’s running now

Global users on the newly opened servers can join an alliance ranking event running until regular maintenance on Aug. 31. The five alliances with the greatest combat power will receive $ONE tokens on a sliding scale, NEXUS says.

A giveaway is also live for domestic and overseas players alike: create a new character on any server and receive Yi Seong-gye, an SSR-grade hero.
