Katia, Imani, Prepotente and Archie are headed for the World Dungeon — and come November 2026, you can take them home with you.
That detail comes courtesy of the Wayland Games store listing for Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable – Crawler Chaos, an add-on for a base game that is itself arriving shortly. Inside the box: four new playable crawlers, an option to build one of your own, and a short story.
For anyone who skipped Unstoppable on its first pass, the format looks like this: a card-crafting deck-builder designed for solo play or two-player co-op. That makes it a solid way to fill an evening when rounding up a full table isn’t happening.
What’s actually in the box
The manufacturer spelled it out without much ceremony.
“A new cast of Crawlers enters the World Dungeon! Expand your copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable with new playable crawlers, including the durable Katia, the supportive Imani, the spell-slinging Prepotente, and the nimble brawler Archie. You can even build your own crawler and take on the dungeon yourself! Also includes a new short story by Ben Wolf titled: “Swarm” which recounts the tale of Archie’s entrance into the World Dungeon.”
The developer has also put out a complete contents list in advance, so nobody is going in blind.
That short story is the clever touch. This is a setting overflowing with tales of woe and strife, and “Swarm” gives fans fiction they won’t find anywhere else — slipped into a board game box. More characters, more ways to play, more of the world.
How a Royal Road serial got here
Dungeon Crawler Carl began life as a web serial posted to Royal Road in December 2019. What followed: books, audiobooks, and eventually a full hardcover release.
It ranks among the more compelling emerging universes out there at the moment, and the momentum hasn’t let up. Peacock has a TV adaptation in development through Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door Productions — the sort of development that trails nearly every successful IP these days.
Television, though, moves slowly. That series is almost certainly much further out than anything else currently penciled in.
The tabletop pipeline keeps filling up
A major crowdfunded TTRPG is also due next year, and on paper it’s the most intriguing adaptation in the entire lineup.
With the expansion, the base set and the RPG all in play, the tabletop side is carrying the weight while the screen version sits in the oven. Should the current trajectory hold, there’s no obvious ceiling on this thing yet.
In the meantime, there’s a card game sitting on a shelf somewhere with Archie’s name attached — plus a short story explaining how he got hauled into the dungeon to begin with.
