The Pokémon Trading Card Game has been printing cards for thirty years, yet it has never put out a set dedicated to Valentine’s Day. That will finally happen on January 27, 2027.
According to reports, the product will be called the “Pokémon TCG Valentine’s Box.” It will be the first set in the game’s history built around the holiday. The TCG has released collections going back to the ’90s, so it’s impressive that the company still found something it hasn’t done before.
What’s in the box
The box contains 20 mini booster packs with a Valentine’s Day theme. Every pack has three Pokémon cards and five sticker sheets.
The packaging may be the highlight. The box can be turned into a small mailbox for collecting valentines from friends and classmates. Touches like this are what make a product like this appeal to kids, and also to the adults who will definitely pick one up for themselves.
No images have been released so far. Still, from what has been reported, it sounds adorable.

Trick or Trade, but for crushes
The idea may sound familiar. It closely follows the format of the Trick or Trade sets that came out for Halloween in earlier years. Those were meant to be handed out in place of candy. The new set will apparently be handed out in place of Valentine’s Day cards.
The number of cards in the set hasn’t been announced yet. Based on how the company handled its Christmas and Halloween releases, the total will probably be somewhere between 30 and 50 cards. As with the Trick or Trade sets, the cards are also likely to be reprints with some kind of special stamp.
Who’s getting a card
The obvious heart-shaped pick is Luvdisc, so it seems like a safe bet. Sweets-themed Pokémon like Alcremie will probably show up too, along with flower Pokémon such as Roselia and romance-themed choices like Aromatisse and Enamorus.

A Pokémon TCG set also isn’t complete without a Pikachu card or two, and the same is true for Eevee.
A busy stretch for the TCG
The Valentine’s Box comes at the end of a busy period for the game. The 30th Celebration set just marked the franchise’s three-decade anniversary, and Delta Reign drops next month. There’s also already a rough picture of what 2027 will look like.
More information about the Valentine’s Box should come out before its January 27 launch. Until then, fans will have to settle for picturing a kid handing out Pikachu valentines from a tiny cardboard mailbox.
