MapleStory N Roughly Halves NFT Item Recharge Rates in Halloween Update

maplestory n roughly halves nft item recharge rates in halloween update In Brief:

In Brief:

  • MapleStory Universe (official site) rolled out its October 14 patch for MapleStory N, adding Halloween events, an overhauled Mu Lung Dojo featuring world-integrated rankings, and skill changes affecting six classes.
  • The update also lowers the periodic recharge of Equipment and Outfit NFT items by roughly 50% across most reward sources.
  • According to the developer, the reduction aims “to balance the supply and demand of Equipment and Outfit NFT items and establish a more stable item circulation environment.”

MapleStory N is scaling back the number of NFT items it distributes. Alongside Halloween events and a reworked Mu Lung Dojo, the October 14 patch reduces the periodic recharge on most Equipment and Outfit NFT rewards by about 50%.

MapleStory Universe shared news of the update on X, writing, “October Halloween update is live!” The complete patch notes, dated Oct. 15, were published on msu.io.

NFT supply cut

Every reward on the Reward Dashboard is affected except NESO, Power Crystal, Florin, Nodestone, coupons, Special Skill Ring Chests and items with unlimited periodic recharge. Field Rewards, Content Raffles and Exchange Shop Raffles each fall by about 50%.

Most Boss Raffles see the same reduction, though certain sources are hit harder. Coins from Lotus (Normal) and Damien (Normal) drop 52%, from 2582.115 to 1233. Their Armor and Accessories fall from three to one, a 67% decrease. Coins from Lucid (Normal) and Will (Normal) slide 44%, from 2756.142 to 1554.

A few slots barely move. Absolab Coins from a single Lotus (Hard) slot and Stigma Coins from a single Damien (Hard) slot both dip 4%, from 1280.235 to 1233. Weapon A raffles for Stigma Coin and Absolab Coin B remain at five per period.

Anything already recharged and accumulated is unaffected. The reduced rates take effect with the first distribution after maintenance.

Mu Lung Dojo goes world-wide

Once the Oct. 15 maintenance wraps, Mu Lung Dojo rankings move to a single world-integrated board instead of a separate board for each world. Only records set after the October 14 patch count, so players who completed the Dojo earlier will need to run it again.

The weekly reset moves from Monday to Thursday at 00:00 UTC. Ranking titles used to go to the top three in each class on each world. They now go to the top 10 in each class across all worlds. Champion titles, awarded for first through third place, grant ATT/M.ATT +20, All Stats +30 and Boss Damage +10%.

A new Badge system assigns tiers from Iron to Master based on a player’s class ranking percentage and minimum floor from the previous week. Master requires a top 5% placement in a class and Floor 50. Iron requires Floor 30, with no percentage threshold.

Badge tier determines how many Training Chamber Coupons a player receives each week, from 10 for Unranked up to 30 for Master. The Path of So Gong event becomes Path of Badges. The Unity Training Center is closing, and entry ends Nov. 11 at 23:59 UTC.

No earlier ranking data exists for the first week, Oct. 15 to Oct. 21, so coupons for that week are based only on cleared floor and are capped at the Gold tier.

Six classes adjusted

The balance pass covers Night Lord, Pathfinder, Night Walker, Dual Blade, Arch Mage (Fire/Poison) and Aran. The developer said it “adjusted classes that displayed relatively lower combat efficiency in boss battles, while also improving convenience features for certain classes.”

Night Lord’s Shurrikane cooldown drops from 25 seconds to 20, and Sudden Raid’s damage at Lv. 30 climbs from 494% to 660%. Night Walker’s Shadow Bite boss damage at Lv. 25 jumps from 1,350% to 2,433%. Dual Blade’s Shadow Meld loses its evasion-triggered buff and gets Weapon ATT +15 in its place.

Fire/Poison Arch Mage gets shorter action delays on nine skills, including a 45% cut for Poison Mist. Elemental Fury’s cooldown goes from 75 seconds down to 60. Aran’s High Mastery Final Damage rises from 15% to 21% at Lv. 30.

The patch also raises the Special Skill Ring Polish max level from two to three.

Halloween events

Drops for Hallowkitty’s Candy Party are available from Oct. 15 to Oct. 28, and the Cat-O-Lantern buff lasts until Nov. 11. The event is open to Minted Characters at level 65 or above. At its peak, the buff gives 10% Bonus EXP, 10% Ignore DEF and +20 All Stats. One rare drop can be traded for the Oversized Halloween Candy Chair NFT item.

Each weekend from Oct. 17 to Nov. 8, Happy Halloween Weekend hands out a gift box with 500 Halloween Pumpkin Coins, plus up to 500 more depending on registered friends. Ghoulbusters kicks off Oct. 29. At the Halloween Pumpkin Farm, which is open to characters level 130 to 274 with MVP Bronze rank or higher, players have 15 minutes to collect up to 500 Ripe Pumpkins.

Players can also spend NESO on Pumpkin Coins. A Halloween Pumpkin Coin Box costs 300,000 NESO and contains 250 coins. A 100,000 NESO pouch pays out a random amount, with a 1% chance of 1,000 coins.

On Oct. 17, an X sharing event called Too Sweet to Keep Secret! runs for 12 hours. Players who post and then submit a verification form receive 10 3x EXP Coupons and five Pumpkin Field Keys.

Spin or Treat

Crimson Night now offers Halloween Mystery Tickets, and each one can be traded for a Spiegelmann’s Black Rebirth Flame. Through Nov. 11, players can also bet tickets on a roulette wheel run by Gas Mask.

The 2x spin wins 45% of the time, 3x wins 30% and 5x wins 18%. A losing spin burns the tickets. Up to 10 tickets can go into each spin, and the patch notes said a 5x win on 10 tickets “will be announced to all Maplers via a world notification.”
