The studio is developing and publishing the game itself. Steam tags it as Casual and Indie, and no price is listed so far.

How it plays

The look is hand-drawn with a yarn theme. You swap neighboring blocks to line up three or more of one color. Since the stacks keep coming down, you also need to build chains and stop the board from climbing too high.

The story mode is split into four acts with 24 bosses in total. All of them are penguins wearing hats.

Beyond the story, the listing mentions 80 hand-crafted puzzles spread over eight worlds, plus daily puzzle challenges. There are four arcade modes: Endless, Time Attack, Stage Clear and Cozy.

Multiplayer and extras

In versus, you can take on the CPU, play locally with up to four people or go online with cross-platform support. On Steam’s feature list you’ll find online and split-screen PvP, online and split-screen co-op, Remote Play Together and Family Sharing.

Unlockables include hats, character colors, block skins and board cases. A streamer mode lets Twitch chat interact with the game.

There are 30 Steam achievements, and the game fully supports controllers. The only listed language is English, which covers the interface, full audio and subtitles.

Specs

Supported systems are 64-bit Windows 10 and 11, plus macOS 11 or later. The minimum specs are modest: a 2.0 GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, a DirectX 11 GPU with 1GB of VRAM and 500MB of free storage.

Tokens, NFTs and other on-chain features aren’t mentioned anywhere on the Steam page.

Studio background

Oh Baby Games was founded by Pasteur Tran, who is also its CEO. In early 2023 the studio closed a $6 million seed round and said it planned to build its own launcher for multiple titles.

Its first game was Oh Baby Kart (official site), a free-to-play kart racer that went into closed beta on Windows and macOS on Dec. 14, 2023. A partnership with Paramount Global and Nickelodeon put SpongeBob SquarePants characters in the game for a limited time at launch. The 2.0 update came later and added a new drifting system, customizable kart equipment, a reworked trickjump mechanic and a full visual overhaul.

The studio has also released Bam Bam Boom on Steam. It’s a free-to-play platform fighter with online play and local free-for-all matches for as many as six players. Shogun Curse, Pawker, Flood With Friends and Prisoners Chess are also on its slate.

The team includes people who worked on Age of Empires II, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Crazy Fishing VR and Magic: The Gathering.
