In Brief:
- Pudgy Penguins has listed a licensing deal on OverpassIP with phone accessories label SOLYD, which wants six Penguins for the debut edition of its iPhone case line.
- Submissions stay open for three weeks. Entering is no guarantee of a slot — it simply adds the NFT to a pool.
- A Pudgy Penguins Pengu Edition case for the Solana Seeker is already on sale from SOLYD at $32, and every unit ships with a soulbound token tied to that case.
Submissions are now live for a Pudgy Penguins iPhone case licensing deal hosted on OverpassIP, where accessories brand SOLYD will choose six Penguins to feature on the first edition of its case line.
The window for entries lasts three weeks.
Pudgy Penguins Are Entering The IPhone Accessory Market
Pudgy Penguins (@pudgypenguins) has launched a new licensing deal with OverpassIP. Holders can now submit their Penguins for a chance to appear on iPhone cases.
The submission period runs for three weeks and closes@BSCNView on X ↗
The flow is straightforward: link a wallet to OverpassIP, load up your qualified assets, and enter a Penguin against the open deal. Nothing is promised. An entry lands the NFT in a pool that SOLYD picks from — the same mechanic that has governed every deal on the platform since it launched.
Owners of the chosen Penguins collect a royalty on sales, typically 5% of net revenues where physical products are concerned. The OverpassIP blog publishes updates twice a year.
Who SOLYD is
SOLYD came together in the fall of 2024 around one narrow opening: over 150,000 Solana Mobile Seeker handsets had been pre-ordered, yet nobody was building cases for them. A waitlist went up in December 2024, and the product shipped on May 15, 2025 at 4 p.m. UTC. Inside 24 hours, more than 500 orders had come in.
iPhone came next for the company, which now promotes MagSafe support and anti-yellowing materials next to its Seeker range. An aluminium ring frames the camera lens on its cases, and every unit arrives with a digital collectible the buyer can claim.
That collectible is a soulbound token minted to both the case design and its owner — something SOLYD pitches to partner projects as a route for airdrops and exclusive drops aimed at verified case buyers.
This isn’t the first meeting between the two brands. SOLYD’s storefront already lists a Pudgy Penguins: Pengu Edition case for the Seeker at $32, complete with the same case-specific soulbound token. Earlier tie-ups include BONK, which received a King BONK design created with an artist, along with X-Ray and fully custom builds.
How the platform got here
OverpassIP is the licensing platform Pudgy Penguins developed alongside SaaSyLabs, the studio responsible for Yuga Labs’ Made by Apes. Built on Polygon, it boils licensing down to three steps: pick the NFT, read the legal terms, sign the agreement.
January 2024 brought the beta, launched with Pudgy Toys Chapter 2, a program that converted 88 Pudgy Penguins and Lil Pudgys into plushies, action figures, clip-on plushies and mystery figurines.
The platform’s first third-party deal came from Orange Cap Games, which licensed 200 Pudgy Penguins for a trading card game. The partnership has endured since. Set 4 of the Vibes TCG deal wrapped on March 14, 2026, pulling in 1,469 submitted assets against 230 requested slots.
Further listings have spanned Good Stuff Toys, PlayEmber’s Pudgy Life — a request for 11 Pudgy Penguins — and a Lil Pudgys YouTube show.
Earlier windows have been tighter than the current one. Pudgy Toys Chapter 2 stayed open for 14 days.
The pitch behind the cases
SOLYD frames a case as a distribution point rather than a piece of plastic. Its argument to partners like Pudgy rests on the soulbound token, which links a physical buyer to an on-chain identity that a project can reach later.
Subtlety isn’t the company’s style on the marketing front, either. Teaming up with BONK and Solflare, SOLYD sent a case beyond 30,000 meters in temperatures under -65 degrees Celsius and carried out what it bills as the first Solana transaction off the planet.
